About us
The No Kidding With Our Kids Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides an afternoon school program for youngsters 4 to 13 years, mainly children from the diverse primary schools in St. Maarten. Through our very specific and balanced program based on morals and values and affordable rates, we are positive that not only is our program one of the best on the island but it is definitely needed as we continue to make steps into the future.
Our history
The Afterschool Activities (ASA) Program exists since 1996 and was founded by the Catholic School Board. After hurricane Luis, many children were not able to go to school. Because they lost their homes many of them sheltered in containers. Mrs. Merlyn Schaminee-Miguel took it upon herself to create an afternoon program for these children with the support of the community.
Years later the foundation is still operating and has facilitated many children of St. Maarten in the afternoon program. The program is under the jurisdiction of the No Kidding with Our Kids Foundation since 1999.
We are proud to be the pioneers of the concept of an afternoon school program in St. Maarten, in the community known as ’ASA’.
Providing an afterschool activities program with creative, recreational, and educational activities to the youth leading to new impulses and getting acquainted with proper active ways of using leisure time.
